Skin cancer can occur anywhere on the skin, including your eyelids. Sun exposure, heredity, and fair complexion are all contributing factors for skin cancer. Skin cancers usually appear as painless bumps or nodules, but bleeding, crusting, distortion, and ulcerations of the skin may also occur. Any suspicious areas need to be evaluated and may require biopsy to confirm the presence of skin cancer.
If cancer is detected, complete removal of the cancer will decrease the chance of spreading or reoccurrence. Treatment will vary based on the type and location of the cancer.
Early diagnosis of skin cancer is key!
