Cyclophotocoagulation (CPC) MicroPulse
The CPC MicroPulse offers an aggressive treatment platform for patients with moderate to advanced glaucoma that are unable to tolerate traditional glaucoma surgery or when traditional glaucoma surgery is not appropriate. This is also a good option when traditional glaucoma surgery is not desired for lifestyle purposes.
The CPC MicroPulse is a non-invasive laser procedure. The laser is applied to the outside of the eye, but is delivering treatment to the inside structures of the eye that make the fluid. By treating these structures, the laser is able to lower the eye pressure. The treatment will require routine follow up to monitor the pressure changes, showing its maximum effect in 4 to 6 weeks. Successful treatment will result in the elimination of many, if not all, eye medications to lower eye pressure.
The surgery is usually done on an outpatient basis and patients are able to go home directly following their procedure with limited to no physical restrictions following the procedure.
